Ghost Towns and Strip Clubs

I hate the first day back at work after vacation. I'm so very, very tired this evening. But I must tell you about my exciting weekend.

Friday night I went to Posh in Ferndale with Jackie, Beckie and Sarah. We arrived around 11pm and were so excited cause we got a parking spot right across the street from the club! Then we started to notice that there were no cars in the parking lot. We went inside and the place was empty. After we watched some tumbleweed roll on by we asked the bartender if it would pick up and she informed us that Saturdays are the popular nights for Posh. We stayed for a little while and about 5 other people came. So we left. We ended up at The G-Spot which is not a strip club but a bar above Johnny G's with a DJ and a pole in the middle of the dance floor. While I'm on the subject of strip joints, I learned that there are quite a few on 8 mile and they are Tycoon's (at first I didn't understand this name but it turns out I was thinking of the word typhoon), Players, and The Coliseum (I still don't understand this name but I like the phallic-looking obelisks in front). The other ladies schooled me on strip clubs on the drive to Posh. It's a good thing that I have such knowledgeable friends.

Anyways, on the way to The G-Spot Sarah had to pee like a mofo so we stopped at Ye Olde Saloone. When she went in the bouncer made some remark about her being all alone and then when she left 4 minutes later she was like "My friends aren't here." I told her that she should have asked him if perhaps there was another Ye Olde Saloone and she was at the wrong one.

While we were at The G-Spot, some foreign guy tried to put his head on Jackie's boobs and Beckie took him aside and explained that that was inappropriate cause we're in America. Jackie said that the guys in Italy were like that and so I had to explain to her that as much as she wanted to be away from her job and in some foreign country, she was not in Italy and still actually in Michigan. Sarah pretended to be fascinated by the ceiling and her drink cause she doesn't like conflict.

I will post about Saturday night later cause all this typing has made me tired.

To be continued...

Don't Get Your Car Fixed at (name to be revealed when car is returned)

I'm so fucking angry right now that I feel like strangling someone. The stupid fucking auto shop still has my fucking car. I dropped it off at 8 o'clock in the fucking morning yesterday and they are just now starting to fix it with the fucking parts. It's fucking 1 in the afternoon! I was supposed to have the fucking car back by now but they just got the fucking parts that were supposed to arrive this fucking morning. Do you they fucking think that I have time to leave my fucking car for 2 fucking days?! I have my fucking retard class this afternoon and I can't fucking miss it. Now my mother has to come home early so I can take her friggin' car to class. I couldn't bring myself to use the actual f-word in a sentence involving my mother.

Mr. Right...or Mr. Kill Right?

I just finished watching Red Eye with Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy. All throughout the movie I kept thinking that she should ask him if he was seeing someone. Do you think it's a bad sign that I see a hired assassin as a possible romantic partner?

It was a really good movie, even though she didn't try to hook up with him. Sigh, when will I meet my handsome and cold-hearted assassin?

Richard Grieco is on some Sci-Fi channel movie at the moment. I'm glad to see that he's still acting. I was worried.

I put my car in the shop today. It took them 7 hours to even look at it and then when they did, they determined that I need a "deluxe tune-up" (that's the basic gist I got after all the car part talk) to the tune of apx $400. That's about $392 more than I was looking to spend on the Silver Bullet, aka Victor.

I happened to be holding Raffi today when Guinevere walked up and he started twisting in my arms and then sank his razor-sharp claws (I knew I should've taken away his scratching post) into my forearm to show his displeasure at being in close vicinity of another cat. My mother wants Raffi to be declawed and I keep telling her that declawing him would be cruel at his age but I'm beginning to reconsider.

Einladen

Did somebody forget that I'm on vacation this week?

This is probably why 100% of my friends think that I'm childish.

Football or Football Americain?

Can anyone give me some names of the Pistons players? Like the really famous ones that my students would know. I think there's some guy named Chauncy Pullups or something. Or some other famous sports people that my students would know. And maybe some of those hip-hop artists (hopefully Sarah and Jackie will read this) that they listen to these days. I'm trying to update an activity from the book with celebrities that the students will actually know.

Lend Me Your Eyes

I am so very sorry that I have not posted in a few weeks. It's not like the Wixom Vixen to keep her adoring fans in the dark for so long. But in my defense, I've been a busy girl. I did indeed get my student teaching placement and I started at Fraser H.S. on January 24th. I'm split between two teachers which is both good and bad and I'm teaching both French and German.

I moved back in with Trish the Dish the weekend of January 28th. I am not completely unpacked yet and my new closet is about a 1/3 of the size of the closet at my old apartment. My mother is already starting to drive me a little batty which is not a good sign. Raffi and Guinevere hiss and growl at each other whenever in each other's presence and Raffi has tried to attack Gwennie a few times. On a good note, my mother packs my lunch for me every night. I didn't even ask her to, she just started doing it.

I got the results of my German test and I passed. Third time's a charm!

I took the CPR/First Aid workshop for future teachers this past weekend so I'm now trained in that. All I have to do now is finish up this semester (student teaching, portfolio review and inclusive teaching class) and I will be a certified teacher. It's kindof weird how it's all coming together and I'm so close to being finished.

I'll try to be better about posting more often but I can't make any promises. This is going to be a very busy semester for me. But I'll make sure to share any funny stories about my students.
